About

39 years of providing civil engineering, surveying, and bridge inspection services for infrastructure projects and planning solutions in Alaska, and the Northwest/Southwest United States.

OUR MISSION

RPKA’s mission is to conduct business with honesty and integrity and provide the highest professional standards in civil engineering, surveying, and bridge inspection services for infrastructure projects and development solutions. At the forefront of our firm’s endeavors are solutions for responsible design that responds to the social and physical impact of development. Our extensive experience working with Native American tribes in remote and rural Alaska, as well as the Northwest and Southwest regions of the United States, has provided an accumulation of knowledge that encompasses our commitment to the heritage of future generations. Our design team introduced the concept of cultural signature as a way of strengthening a community’s program identity and then integrating that design into their community project.

 OUR HISTORY

Established in 1980, Rodney P. Kinney Associates, Inc. (RPKA) is a Native American, family-owned, small business enterprise, located in Eagle River, Alaska. We are established leaders in remote, rural, and urban civil engineering, surveying, transportation planning, bridge inspections, construction inspections, and construction management. We have spent the past 39 years crafting a professional and versatile staff who can be responsive to the needs of our clients in an expeditious manner. Our team has vast and varied experience which encompasses all phases of a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm. We approach and fulfill goals by developing and combining current and time-tested strategies; these strategies address present-day and future requirements, economics, public safety, health, and social needs. We coordinate plans and development with tribal councils/communities, city/borough, state, and federal agencies, minimizing project costs, maximizing local employment, and encouraging partnerships and collaborations between communities. We are efficient in handling a variety of tribal, city/borough, state, and federal contracts, many of which are ongoing simultaneously and require quick responses, short schedules, and often with limited budgets. We seek to exceed minimal project requirements and expectations and achieve a level of design and service that surpasses client objectives. Our firm has received exceptionally high-performance ratings from clients; we have built a reputation for quality work, meeting deadlines, and providing timely responses. RPKA can credit their success over the years with their dedication to communication and cooperation, working inclusively with all parties involved to ensure that the services we deliver meet the needs and objectives of each project.
